LAKEWOOD, N. J., June 0-- There was a strong possibility here tonight that there will be no heavyweight title fight. between Jarnes .1. Braddock and Joe Louis this year, even if the Brown Bomber succeeds in beating Max Sohmeling in New York. June 15.

The Louis board of strategy. composed of Louis and his two managers, Julian. Black and John Roxborougih, flatly refused to sign a contract with Mike Jacobs for I fall fight for two ns:

The Pioneers ended the present exhibition series by taking the measure of the Red Wings here last night by an 8-5 score. The game was very close up to the Pioneer end of the 5th when the winners enriched the game and series with a five hit splurge which combined with a base on balls net- ted them sl.: runs. The Pioneer big guns showed no mercy shelling Wilson from the mound and then continued their steady barrage on “Pony" Daly who relieved the Wing ace.

Schurman in making his debut for the season as a starting pitcher let the losers down with six scattered blows, struck out six and did not issue a single base on balls. The diminutive hurler show- ed his characteristic feature of the last two seasons being unbeatable in the pinches and leaving five runners stranded on the paths Wilson before being relieved in the fifth had allowed only four hits. had struck out seven and allowed two passes. A costly error to start the third got the big hurler into trouble and with Herman Durallt's triple and Mlllmarfs single the winners scored twice, making the board read 2-2.
