Why a Liberal Will Not for Bell.

Sixr,—I sm a Liberal. Iwas born one and expect to die one. The two years’ reign of the Ottawa Liberat Government, as well as the actions vf the Local, have raised considerable doubts ae to my fuiure conduct. I have, however, made up my mind On one point, viz., not to support Mr Be'l at the com ing election; and the reason I'bave done so is that I believe a check will do}Sir Louis H. Davies and the party a great deal of good, while it cannot do them any harm, Therefore I have decided to act in such a wayas wll give tre party @ much required set back. It is notorious that certaio parties amongstthe Liberal leaders imagine that becausea man isa Liberal he will swallow his better jadg— ment and vote, Libersl no matter what outrages the party in power commit. This notion is not confined to the Liber- els of Prince Edward Island, but, it exists in the Upper Provinces as well, and in conjuction with the utter failure of the Government to carry out their promises,
