by the amount of money . that was not returned. Therefore, it was sold back to the company at half its value. With Saga the overhead is . covered by the difference between the cost of stem books and their actual food purchasing value.-
‘ 'Ihe new food plan
gives the student 8 books
per semester. Each book is worth $61.50, while the entire Shocks per semester are worth $600. $492.00 goes towards the actual food purchases while the $108. pays overhead costs. The
stamps inside the booklet I
are worth 30¢ and 5¢ respectively.

A general Opinion
survey of students on
campus shows that most students consider the food satisfactory, however, they would like tosee more variety. on the weekends. Seeing as how this university
is a "suitcase university" we can understand their point, — but what about the students who do nOt

Saga were that there would, be an improvement in the quality of food, all members of the university community could use the cafe and the university would be running the
food service.
According to Student Services Director, James Griffith, the university would be running the cafeteria" in the sense that we have a percentage that they pay us and we
would keep the profits- and losses".
When asked if the new cafeteria system would pay off in the long run Mr. Griffith replied that "it will pay off because it will break even. More non-residents will be using the cafeteria - hopefully".
or can not go home on the weekends? Still,
this is not the point.
The point is that these students are not getting exactly what they paid
for! What can be done?
