Harirax,N. §S., Sept. 28 —An excur- sion train coming from Pictou to Halifax this morning, crashed into a working train near Stellarton.

The engineer and fireman of each engin, were killed. Their names are: James Sproull, engineer; Michael O’Brien, en- gineer; W. G, Henderson, fireman; Joha R. McKenzie, fireman.

A Mr. Cameron, of Scotch Hill, a pas- senger, was killed, and ano:her passenger, John MeMiilan, of Pictou, was injured.

London, Sept. 26. —The alarming situ- ation in France rivets the attention of Ea. rope. The excitement is increasing hour- ly, new revelations and developments are expected, and a military coup d’etat would net surprise any body.

The weakness of M. Brisson, the Pre mier, over the affairs of Lieut~Col. Picquart, who is now in secret confine~ ment inthe military prison of Cherche Mida, placed there, apparently, without the knowledge of the Government, and in epite of the fact that he was in the hands ofacivil court, has disgusted even his own persousl friends, who call him a coward and a dolt, while the enemies of 4 revision of theDreyfus case accuse him of being a hypocrite, and of having sold him- self to a Dreyfus syndicate, an organiza- tion oo undoubtedly exists.
