Lambert and James may in- sight riots and protests at places like Dal but at UPEI they had the place rockin’ because we know how to have a good time. Dal ac- tually banned this act but that kind of protest only adds more comedy material for Lambert and James’ act. : ;

The day after this dynamic duo was marched on at Lal campus they were met with 2 wild and crazy party crowd ‘rom UPEI. Saturday night at the darn was the time for great tunes, good drinks, friends, and a few laughs. The audience was thoroughly into the great old songs like American Pie. Lambert and James made

a few remarks about the recep-

tion they got from Dal but UP- Eler’s showed them real appriti- ation and the team said this of UPEI, “Great crowd, always wel- come at the Barn and we would like to come back to work for at least three days. One to work and tow to get drunk!”

Saturday events don’t always pack in a lot of people and with all other events like the Co-ed going on I was surprised at the large large crowd that was rock- ing at the Barn. This is the sec- ond time I’be seen Lambert and James here on campus. Some of the material is the same but it is as funny and entertaining as ever! I give this event 4 out of 4 pan- ther paws for great beer drinking tunes and lots of laughs!

The Panther Lounge was filled Saturday night. with people anx- iously awaiting the beginning of Lambert and James. The per- formance started at ten o’clock and admission was $2.00.Every- one showed up early because the performance was advertised as starting at nine o’clock.

The act lasted about two hours and a half with a short break in the middle. Rumour has it that this act was banned from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia for making a series of jokes about homosexuals. It appears as though Lambert and James have cut down on these jokes only to add in more jokes about the Dal protestors.

HALIFAX (CUP) — Students at Mount St. Vincent University welcomed the comedy team Lam- bert and James on campus with waving placards.

“Who does our student coun- cil think they represent if they are inviting this ‘comedy’ team to spew out hatred for non-white,

none-male people?” asked stu- dent Michelle Case, who consid- ers the duo’s material offensive.

The women’s studies society organized the February 10 protest after a motion to ban Lambert and James from the campus was defeated by one vote at a recent student council meeting.

Rob Holden, council enter- tainment director, was reluctant

to cancel because a contract was signed. The council would lose $350 if the act was banned.

Said council vice president ex- ternal Cheryl MacKenzie, “I’d rather spend the $350, honour their contract and have them not play. They’re vulgar and rude.” Councillor Naomi Martin added, “How can we sponsor events that promote hatred, yet at the same time develop an AIDS policy?”

Audience participation was very good. Lambert and James kept communication going by playing songs which everyone was getting into by singing, clapping, and shouting. They were not only funny but they were also very skilled musicians on the guitar. They played songs by such groups as The Eagles and Led Zepplin.

A good time was had by all!!! UPEI pulls off another successful event!!!
