The program opened at the monument where wreaths were placed and a prayer oﬂered by the Rev. T. H. Busseli Somers, min. ister oi St. James Presbyterian Church, Charlottetown.

Following the short service at the monument the program con- tinued at the hall which. despite thc heavy rainfall, W85 filled to capacity.

The program opened with “O Canada". Iollawed by Scripture reading by the Rev. Mr. Somers. Remarks were made by Mr. Roy Doiron. past president of the Rusticu Branch oi the Canadian Legion. 3.551.. The hymn "Faith Oi’ Our Fathers" was iollowed by an address by the Rev. Mr. Som- ers, alter which the hymn “Unto the Hills" was sung. The Hon. Dr. W. J. P. Mac-li/iil- lan, 0.B.E.. gave an eloquent ad- dress in which he spoke oi the eﬂorts being made to restore bat- tle torn England. At the close oi the service the c h air m a n. Major MacDonald. thanked the people ior their co- operation in making the service possible, and in appreciation he presented to the Women's Insti- tute a large Union Jack.
