Hit I'm Wendy Poirier, vice-president of the society. There seems to be an awful lot of Soc./ Anth. majors around, but so far not many of you have gotten involved with the society. I’m asking you to come check it out-- it doesn’t cost anything, we always have something going on and we'll take anyone who shows up (we already have some members from other faculties). We have meetings every Friday at

12:30, in the lounge on the fourth floor of Main. Everyone is welcome to attend-- in fact, we want you to. So, if you have any ideas or just want to socialize, be there this Friday! Even if you don’t want to join you can order a t-shirt-- just find the lounge and there should be a sheet to fill out. Also in February, there will be a 50/50 draw and possibly a pub. Keep an eye out for posters. Hope to see you this Friday!!

Residence bursary-

Bernardine Hall ($500)

FOLLOWING ARE THE TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR THE ABOVE-NAMED BURSARY:

I. Recipient must be a Junior or Senior student living in Bernardine Hall who has lived there for at least two years.

2. Must have an average of 65% or better in last semester’s work and passing grade in all five subjects.

3. Must write a personal essay about what she/he has participated in during her/his years in residence. How has she/he promoted spirit in Bernardine Hall?

4. Selection to be made by a committee from the Department of Student Services (composed of the Residence Manager or Co- ordinator of Residence Program, Director of Student Services, and one counsellor) with final approval given by the Scholarship and Bursary Committee.

5. Selection to be made in conjunction with other bursaries awarded from the Memorial Bursary Fund.

What’s on at the Panther Lounge

laughs with comedian Simon Cotter. He was recently featured on CBC’s “Comics”. His act will start around 9:30.

Applications have begun to come in to the Student Union Office. Positions available for September include Panther Lounge Manager, Assistant Manager, Bartenders and Student

Campus Police positions. Application forms can be picked up at the Student Union Office between 9 and 4 Monday to Friday.

Friday, Feb. 11th we will be showing a replay of the Royal Rumble. Admission is free towatch one of the most entertaining wrestling events ever held. See the Undertaker and the tragic casket match results! The Rumble will start at 8:00pm.

Don't forget Wednesday nights at the Barn. Watch for posters or give usa call to find out who's playing each week. Wednesday, Feb. 9th will feature “Clothing Optional”.

Thanks to everyone who showed up for Winter Carnival events. It was a smashing success! and remember let everything slide and come on down to the Barn you can always catch up during the break.
