He finished up the season winning three races at Foxboro and his former owner stated that if shift-5 ed to the trot he"will take a very fast record at that gait.

Willard MacDonald of Summer- .s.lde was the buyer of Airlock 4, 2.05. I 4-year-old bay gelding by Spud Hanover 4. 2.03. dam Anna Bradford's Miss McElwyn. p. 2.08 172, t. 2.08 374. Clayton MscLeod of Westville. N. S.. bought the 7-year-old mare Cnrlna Hanover 2.08, that trotted in 2.06 this season. She is by Hecantrot 2.07 174. dam Czarina. dam of Czar Volo 2.03 375 and three others with records better than 2.10. She is considered a real good buy.

Len 0'Mcara. acting for George Gregory of Charlottetown. bought the 4-year-old pacer Perfect Hal 4. 2.03 275. He is a bay horse by Hal Dale 2.02 174. dam Peerless Princess 2.04 174. also the dam of Super Hal 2.01 275. owned by Harry Hirsch of Sydney. His dam is a sister to the famous sire Volomite 3. 2.03 174. and his an- cestors on both sides teem with speed.

Lorne Lctcher's bid made him the owner of Flaming Way 3. 2.04- 375. a chestnut colt by King's Counsel 1.58. dam Jane Azoff 1.59- 172. whose name was a household word throughout the Maritlmes some years ago. She is also the dam of Fearless Way 2.04 375. Echoway 2.05 375 and several others. Flaming Way was con- signed by Sol Camp. and was raced with success by Joe O'- Brien. Lorne also bought the 5- year-old brown gelding pacer Bothwell 3. 2.02 275. He took his record two years ago at Holly- wood Park, Callf.. and won a mile and one-sixteenth race in 2.09. He has terrific speed and as a 4-year-old was timed close to 2.00. He has paced Roosevelt Raceway in 2.05.

He took his record at Topsham, Me.. half mile track. Roy also bought Wal- ter Rosecroft 4, 2.07 175. record taken over a half mile track. Maritimcrs were much in evi- dence at the Dciaware. Ohio. 18th annual Fall sale. November 29- 30 and December 1st. Lloyd Mc- Aulay, a Ford dealer of Sydney, N.S., bought the following: True Linn 2.04 375. a 7-year-old black pacing stallion by True Chief 3. 1.59 374. At the end of 1954 he had won 511095.62. This year he competed at Rosecroft. Laurel. Baltimore, Chicago and Brandy- wine Raceway and is described as perfect mannered and a real pacer.

Sandy Song 2.10 375. a bay trot- ting stallion, eight years old by Peter Song 4. 2.00. In his last nine races he was three times first and only once out of the money.

Becky Counsel 3, 2.11. is a 6- year-old brown mare by Hal Coun- sel 2.04 475. She is a perfect race mare. started this year in the 30- class and was raced by I lady driver all through the and was mostly 1-2-3 in her starts. She is expected to pace in 2.07 next year.

Saint John buyers were also right to the fore at Delaware. I-leading the list of their purchases is Hi-Lo's Baron p. 2.09 475. He is a 4-year-old pacing gelding by Hollyrood Hermes 2.00. and his dam is Starlight Girl 2.09 275 by Volomite 3, 2.03 174. This was his first year to race and he had competed in five events before consignment. He is absolutely sound and never makes a break.

Earl Forbes of H1-Lo 2.09 275 is a brother to Hi-Lo's Forbes 1.58 by Frisco Forbes. He is an 3- ycar-old bay gelding, sound. and good mannered.

Tennlswood p. 4. 2.09 275 is by the famous Ontario sire Corporal Lee 2.04. The owner raced him for five years and he was never lamc. has the best of manners and is considered a perfect race horse. He had two campaigns at Blue Bonnets Raceway. Montreal, and won his share of races there.

John Frederick p. 2.07 375 is I 9-year-old bay horse by Harold Ganoniam. In 1954 he was four times first. seven times second and four times third and won 33.- 762. He was still racing when the catalogue was compiled.

Windsor Volo p. 2.10 is a 4-year- old bay pacing mare by Alliewyn Volo 2.08 375. She is described as a sound. perfect race more

This horse took his record of 2.07 to hopples. but has won in practically the same time free legged.

Linda Abbedale p. 2.03 375 is a 5-year-old black mare by Chief Abbedale 2.00. sire of seven with records better than 2.00. Her dam is the dam of Betty M. Bud Wilson of Saint John, N.B. was the buyer of Guy Adam and Flaming High. Guy Adam 2.13 is by Calumet Adam 1.59 374. He is a 4-year-old bay gelding. sound. with excellent manners and can pace in 2.09.

Flaming High 2.08 375 is by Brookdale p. 1.59 174, one of the great mid-West slres of pacing speed. His dam is Flaming Lady. dam of Memory Lane 2.08. She is by Calumet Adam 1.59 374 and ”has extra good breeding on her dam's side. Her second dam is Frances Knight 3. 2.08 172. dam of Lovely Lady 2.03 172 and others. Flaming High is A 3-year-old bay gelding and comes from one of the best campaigning stables in the Western United States.

He is considered one of the best young pacing prospects brought to the Marltlmes for 1956. With his al- lowance as a 3-year-old he will be eligible to slow classes. Bob left detailed instructions for train- ing and feeding this young chap. of which he has made predictions of coming greatness.

Ed Lindon of Newcastle. N B.. bought two young pacers at Har- old Birmingham's. Houlton. Me.. sale. Both are by 3911 Boy 2-01. one is Bctty S. Belle out of Betty Budlong. grandam Betty S. 2.07. that many will remember when she raced through the Maritune Circuit years ago. The other is Janet Belle.

Henry Dewitt of Woodstock. also made a purchase at the above sale securing Ima Belle a 3-year-old filly by Bell Boy 2.01, and George Carpenter of Woodstock bought the 4-year-old colt Sunset Boy. A. E, ”Skipper" Quartermain also bought two colts. both by Bell Boy 2.01, one out of Betty B”d1”11t: and the other out of Janie Canuck. The ”Skipper" has been an own- er or interested in race horses for over 40 years and has had some real good ones.
