Smith lectures on deconstruction
Professor John Smith of the English Department will deliver a seminar entitled “Say Unsaying: Recent Approaches to Familiar Texts”. .
Professor Smith recently attended a conference on con- temporary critical approaches, presently dominated by the theories of deconstruction.
Professor Smith’s seminar will be held in the Faculty Lounge, Main Building, on Tuesday March 5 from 2:30 to 4pm.
All are welcome.
Economics Society meets
The Economics Society meets every second Saturday evening in the Panther Lounge of the UPEl Barn.
The meetings commence at 7 p.m. and are open to all,.but especially first, second, and third year majors.
The next meeting is March 9, 1985.
Search committee wants responses
As noted in a previous memorandum, written submissions to the Committee from individuals who have met the si\ presidential candidates are very welcome.
However, in response to a request, the Committee is also making itself available for individual spoken assessments.
A time for these has been worked into our schedule: Thursday, February 28, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and from 7:003:00 p.m. Please call our secretary, Wanda Bourgeau. at local 171, for an appointment.
The Committee’s role during these interviews will be simply to listen and to ask questions of clarification.
We respectfully ask that only those who have met all candidates take advantage of this offer. In any case, our preference is for assessments in writing.
The deadline for these remains March 4.
