Mrs. Masher was a resident of Si. Fella. Tigniah, until about ten years ago when the family moved to Saint John.

She was a woman of kind and genus disposition and always ready to assist anyone in need. and when she left this commun- ity was greatly missed. Her many friends now mourn her passing.

The funeral was held from Tignish United Church on Fri- day afternoon. September 11th. and services were conducted by Reverend Norman Green of Elmsdale. who also conducted tht services at the grave.

Hymns sung during the ser- vice were all favorites of the deceased. "Abide With Me". "Rock of Ages" and "The Lord is my Shepberd".

Burial was in the Church cem- etery and the pail bearers were Messrs John Mclntosh. Waldo selllck. Wendell Scllick, wuson Christopher. Frank Rosa and Fred fPen'y.

JOHN D. MacLEAN

On Thursday morning. Sept. ma, 1957, the Angel of Death claimed for its own, the oldest resident of Milo. in the person of John D. MacLean.

The late Mr. MacLean was in his ninety-second year. and was In good health until June Nth when he fell and suffered a bro- ken hip.

Born in Hampton. Dec. 5th. 1865, he was the last member of the family of Duncan and Mary (Campbell) MacLean. As a small boy. he moved with his parents to Milo. where he re- sided the remainder of his life. lie was known as a successful farmer and saw-mill operator. His carpentry 'works may be seen in many of the houses, barns. churches and schools in Milo and surrounding districts.

Left to cherish the memory and mourn the passing of a kind and loving father are Angus and Dermot of Milo. Margaret. (Mrs Gordon Campbell) Charlotte- town. Mra. Loretta Mugridge. Crapaud. Mrs. Annie Auld. Char- lottetown. and Lawrence of Ben- gor. Maine. One son died in infancy. Also left to mourn are a large number of grandchil- tiren. great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

The funeral which was lar- gely attended was held from his late residence on Saturday. Sop tember iith. The service was conducted by Rev. .I.H. Bishop. assisted by Rev. J.H. Kean. selections sung were the sum Psalm and and Parsphrase.

Preceptor, Cyril Msc!'ar- iane officiating, Chaplain. Pet- or M. Maccauil, Registrar, TJ. lnman. Deputy Lloyd Affleck.

The large numbe of floral tributes bore testimony of the high esteem in which the de- ceased was held. Honorary pall- bearers were members ol the Orange Order. Messrs Stafford Leard. William Waddell. Stew- art lnman, Alva Walsh. Fred Sherren. T.J. inman Peter M. Maocauli. and Cyril MncFar- lane.

MRS. JAMES W. MORRISON

The death of Mrs. James W. Morrison occurred on Septem- ber lat at the home of her niece and foster daughter. Mrs. Geo. MacMIllan. Cornwall. She had been in failing health for sev- erai years. but it was not un- til two weeks previous that the and seemed imminent.

Mrs. Morrison was born in Westmoreiand on Dec. I0. 1374. a daughter of Mark I. and Sarah (Thomson) Best. in early life she was united in marriage with James Macvittie and set- tled on a farm In Westmorr land. when they resided until his death in 10:4. in May III she became the wife of James W. Morrison. Tryon. where she lived until his death in October IMI. She then went to live with her niece. Mrs. MacMiilan who came to live with her at the age or our and whom she loved as s nughter.

Mrs. Morrison was a woman of many fine qualities, kind and hospitable in her home. and was held in the highest esteem by all with whom she came in con- tact

Early in life) she united with the Westmorelsnd Baptist Church and while health per- mitted was alwsys a regular at- lenoant and staunch supporter. She was a charter member of the Women's Missionary Society of that church. and was always a willing helper in any phase of its work.

Hie was predeceased by one son. who died in Infancy. Be- sides the MecMilian family. its leaves (our brothers and nne sister to cherish her memotey. Richard. Deer Park. B.C., who recently came to spend time with relatives here. Tho- mas and Russel. Crapaud. Har- ry. Saskatoon and Caroline (Mrs A. Mat-Vittie. Crapaud.
