The Charlottetown Hospital. During the past .year there bave been ‘reated in the Charlottetown Hospital 115 patignts, Of this number 88 were cured, i2 improved, 9 inctirable, i unimproved and 3S died. From the foregoing it will be seen that the Charlottetown Hospital still continues to do its good work, We have reason to believe that many of those afflict- ed | ersons who were discharged cured from the hospital, and who are new in the en- joyment of good health, had suffered from liseases which, without the benefits of hos- pital treatment, would have brought them to an early grave.» The attendance at the out-door depsrtment. where the sick poor receive medical attendance and medicine free, has also been very large. The question of protection and free trade has just been fought out in Sweden, and the contest has ended in a decisive victory for protection. The election resulted in protectionist majorities in both branches of the Swedish Purliament, and a new Ministry was formed to frame a policy in accordance with the popular verdict. The protectionist party contains many farmers’ representatives, all strong supporters of fiscal change.
