MONTAGL‘E A workman from the Summer-side area Mel— bourne MacKinnon. about 24. had an arm severely injured in an accident in the Cardigan dis- trict yesterday.
MacKinnon who was operating a cable laying burying machine had his sleeve catch in a chain belt and his arm was crushed between the belt and a
pulley.
He was taken to the Kings County Memorial Hospital, where to a patient. Both bones of the lower forearm were broken
MacKinnon who lives \n the Pope Road. near Summcrside. is reported to have been an em- ployee of inman Plumbing and Heating Ltd.
Supreme—El. Pays Tribute To Late MLA
MONTAGUE —— The Novem- ber sitting of the Supreme Court of Prince Edward island was held in Georgetown yesterday with Mr. Justice Mark R. Mc- Guigan, presiding.
No cases were on the. docket for the consideration of the court. Mr. Justice McGuigan paid a tribute to the late S. S. Hessian, QC. MLA. and extend- ed the sympathy of the court and its officials to Mrs. Hessian and to Stephen Hessian, J12, son of the deceased.
in his remarks Mr. Justice McGuinan reviewed the long and distinguished career of the late Mr. Hessian in the legal profes- sion and in the field of politics and public service. He recalled that the deceased was the old- est practicing attorney in the province from the point of ser- vice. haung been admitted to the bar in 1916 which meant he had practiced law for 46 years.
