Having watched on T.V., the most exciting George Foreman/Ron Lyle fight in which every blow-landed, we think we may be excused‘ for wondering, during the first couple of minutes in the Panther-Acadia hockey game was transposed to this fight, as the first real shots on goal scored.‘

Bicknell scored for the Axemen on a deflection after forty seconds of play and our Ray O'Donnell evened it up a half a minute later. Glen Singleton made it 2—1 after another forty seconds only to have Lennie Kelly (who travelled in high gear, throughtout) made it 2—2

‘twenty—five seconds later.

135 seconds! Bob Gray who came in a couple of minutes later saw the scoreboard and thought that he had missed the first period. After this the goaltenders put on a

fine display of their unques— tioned skill. There was no more scoring during the fir-

st period and Lennie Kelly got the only goal of the second stanza.

In the thrid Dave Murna— ghan and Wayne Bernard got singles in the third while Lennie was scoring his third of the night. Dave Harpin got their only third marker, making the end come at 6—3 for us. Snags McInnis in our nets played well although not overextended while A1

Panthers are presently in ' third place and are no cinch for that much-sought after- play—off spot. Tied with St. F.X. they are just behind’ Mount A. and just ahead of Moncton...but both these teams have two games ahead with lowly Memorial...which should give them four points each. X beat us by four goals here so we would have to beat them by five in Ant— igonish to get“the placing advantage over them in‘the case of a year—end tie. A tough assignment.

Remember the second place Mounties are a team we must beat if we ex- pect to make the grade.

For an analysis of the cost, we'll give you the figures, Bus travel 146 miles @35¢ a mile comes to $51.10, return fares for passengers on the ferry @$1.30, for $52.00, fares for bus $10.00, driver's wages 8 hours @ $5.50 for $44.00 and two campus policemen have agreed to go along at the low wage of $15.00 total. This comes to an aggregate of $172.10 and 40 students at $4.00 would give a loss of $12.10. We've talked this over Trea— surer Ray Shalala who agrees ‘that this woudl present no difficulty. Other trips some have hitch-hiked to events and free-loaded back at ot—~ her's expense. If this trip goes only ticket—holders back from Sackville would be a dim prospECt at 10:30 on a cold night!
