Election Of Officers ls Held By Cornwall WI

The annual meeting of the Cornwall Women's Institute was held at the home of the presl. dent. Mrs. Jack MacPhee. A I-Remembl‘ance Day" thought and a poem were read by Mrs. George Lowther and the meet- in: opened in the Usual manner.

One new member. Mrs. Heber Mavphail was welcomed to the meeting. The president gave an Interesting and comprehensive report on the year's work point- ing out the highlights. which in- cluded the celebration of the tilth anniversary of the OI‘EBDIZ' ation of the group: the 48th and 50th wedding anniversaries of two of the members. remember In: sick and shut-ins at Christ- mas. sewing lessons. music in the school. the water safety procram and many other activi- ties sponsored by the group.

A thanleyou letter was sent from the Institute to non-mem- hers who so kindly donated thincs for the cake sale held at the (‘ornwnll store. A special thanks and a' small dirt w git-en Mrs. A Glass for her help In the work.

BROOKFIELD WI On November 19 the annual mectin'l of the Brookfield Wom- en's institute was held at the home of Ella Moore. The meet- in: has opened bv repeating the creed and roll call was answer- ed by eight members. Three visitors attended the meeting.

The minutes of the last annual and last regular meetings were read and the secretary gave the annual report on the group's ac- tivities. The correspondence was read and discussed and it wa s decided to send $2 to UNICEF. It was decided that the stick and school committees be appointed ewry three months.
