British Cattle To Be Slaughtered

LEICESTER, England, March

20 —(CP) -- An "appreciable num- ber" of cattle on British farms must be slaughtered because of feed shortage, Robert Hudson, Minister of Agriculture, disclosed today. He told farmers here that even after the reduction, in which choice animals would be saved, the num- ber remainlng still would be great- er than in years immediately after the first great war. He said re- ductions should be made gradually during the next six months.
