Railroads formed the base for the rise. and there was plenty of help from key stocks in major divi- aions. V
American radiator was the day's most active issue unchanged at l8Va. Goodall-Sanford was second up (Wu and then came Pan Ameri- can World Airwaya up 55 at 1392, General Electric off it at 45, Cur- tlss-Wright unchanged at 11, and Burlington Mills up in at 1432.
The Associated Press average of 60 stocks gained 60 cents at 3131.60.
Among- stocks standing out on the plus side were American Tel- ephone, Youngston Sheet and Tube, New York Central. Santa Fe, Atlantic Coast Line, Baltimore and Ohio, Paramount Loew's.
