The competition was held be- tween provincial road builders’ associations in all provinces except Newfoundland during the period from Monday. Aug. 10 to Friday Aug. 21. Provincial w o r k s m e n's compensation boards, departments of labor and construction safety organ- izations assisted.

More than 500 entries h a ve been received in the National Newspaper Week Essay contest being conducted by The Guard- ian and Evening Patriot.
Many teachers at Charlotte- town Rural High School. Birch- wood High School and St. Mary‘s
Academy. Summerside. made the essay contest a class pro- jecf. Other entries have been
submitted from as far away as Alberton and Wiite Sands.
