Sir Charles Tupper, in reply, held that it was desirable that the production of the correspondence should precede the passage of the Addrese. He could see no reason why this course should not be adopted, and as a grave constitutional question uay be raised it was desirable that the correspondence should be available during the progress of the debate on the Address. He held that the House of Commons is entitled to know and the country is en- titled to know the circumstances that attended the resignation cf one government and the formation of another. The mit- ter dropped.
