Formation of the new division was but one of several phases in a sweeping reorganization an- nounced by Mr. Claxton.

He said the 27th Brigade in Ger- many will be relieved this month by the let Canadian Infantry Brig- ade under the command of Brig. W. B. Anderson of Kingston and Ottawa.

For the first time in Canada's history. an active force regiment has been created. It is to be known as the Regiment of Canadian Guards, composed of four battal- ions.

GRAND ETANG. N.S., (GP)-A grim story of a losing battle for life in a heavy storm was re- vealed Friday when the body of a Broad Cove fisherman washed ashore in the harbor here. not far from where half of a battered 24- foot fishing vessel was beached. Clothing identified as belonging to a second missing fisherman was also found in the harbor. The partly - clothed body of Daniel Allan Macdonald. 34, was found on the shore.

Missing were his boots and outer clothing. indicating that he had attempted to swim ashore after their craft was wrecked during storms which lashed this west Cape Breton coast most of the week.

Searching along the shore is con- tinuing for the body of his com- panion, Albert Richardson, 32.

The vessel left Cheticamp Mon- day on a 50-mile trip to the home port of Broad Cove. Tuesday the weather turned bad. High winds continued Wednesday and Thurs- day. Heavy rain cut visibility.

Tropical Storm Crosses Florida

MIAMI, l"le., (AP)-A tropical swrm crossed Florida from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic with mile-a-minute winds and driving rain Friday flooding high- ways and farmlands.

Production this year of 313,939,- 000 bushels of potatoes in the Unit- ed States is indicated in the latest estimate, rceeived here yesterday by the Provincial Department of Agri- culture. The estimated yield per acre is 249.

These figures compare with the September estimate of over 380.- 926,000 bushels with a per acre- age yield of 253.1 bushels.

The piano disappeared snms- where in the wilds of northern Ontario. Provicnisl police at Hnileybury. 100 miles north at North Bay, were told the aircraft: was believed to be in their dis- trict.

The Expediter, used ror navig- ational training and general liai- son. carried six hours' fuel for a. flight that normally takes a little more than two hours.

The aircraft arrived at Rock- cliffe Airport Thursday night from Summerside. It took off for North Bay at 7.45 am. Eastern standard Time Friday. Later the pilot re- ported he was returning to Rock- cliffe because of bad weather. Then he reported he was proceeding to North Bay as originally scheduled. There has been no further word from the aircraft.

The search is being handled from Trenton. Ontario and planes have already started a "track crawl" search of the area.
