Stories of a family of 17 In Upper Canada call attention to a Bristol couple, Mr. and Mrs William MacDonald, who have a family of 19 children. When Mrs MacDonald did not bear one more child to fill their de- sire of 20 children they adopted one from the St. Vincent's orph- anage in Charlottetown. Both hail and hearty, Mr. and Mrs. MacDonald now reside in the city. Mrs. MacDonald says she never had any electric applian- es in her home and ali the washing was done by hand on the wash board and no bakers’ bread either. A double batch of hread was set every night and a bag of flour (98 pounds) was used up every week. They both say their large family was and still is their blessing as they come together every weekend for a party-

The big house where the, late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred McEwen resided many years ago has been cut down and re-modelled into a bungalow. This .property was once one of the finest in this vicinity.
