Lonpon, Dec. 1.—The officers ssi! men of the Canadian regiment went | out to Windsor yesterday and were

received by the Queen.

On their arrival at Windsor station the Canadians were wel- comed by the Mayor. Large crowds had assembled and gave the men a rousing reception.

The Queen inspected the officers in the quadrangle|ofijthe Castle and expressed her happiness en seeing them. She regretted the heavy casualities that had occurred i, their ranks since the war began. Her Majesty thanked her subjects| from Canada for the great service they had rendered Great Britain in South Africa, and wished thema safe return to their homes.
