The death occurred at St. Peters- burg, Florida, on Dec. 2i late oi Mrs. Annie Rodd, Widow of the loft

lottetown. The ‘eceased, who was in her 92nd year, was formerly Miss Annie Smith, of Mayfield, this Pro- vince, and had resided for the past twenty years in Florida.

She is survived by four sons and two daughters, namely, William W., proprietor of the Empire Hotel, Charlottetown; Charles, Herbert, Maynard, and Lily in Florida, and Mabel, in Boston, to all oi whom The Guardian tenders sincere sym- pathy.

MR. ARCHIBAID BELL

There passed peacefully away in the quiet hours of the Sabbath morning of Dec. 8th, Archibald Bell of Searletown, at the age of 7i years, alter an illness of thirteen months. During his painful illness he was never heard to complain, but bore his suffering with patience. He was an elder of the Church of Scotland for many years. He was the eldest son of the late Gilbert Bell and Sophia MacDougail, and was born in Nine Mile Creek. When quite a young man, he moved to Albany with his parents, and later moved to Bearletown, where he rc- sided until his death. In politics he was a staunch supoprter of the Liberal party. and always a faith- ful worker for his party. He was Constable for Prince County for over 35 years, also a prohibition of- ficer.

His funeral was largely attended, and took place on Dec. llth from his late residence to the Church of Scotland at Cape Traverse. The service at the house and church was conducted by his pastor, Rev. Ewen MacDougall of Charlottetown, assisted by Rev. Mr. Organ of Bede- que. At the house. the United Church choir of Searletown sang very flttingly, “Shall We Meet Be- yond The Rlver!’ '

He leaves to mourn, besides a large circle of friends, his sorrowing widow, four daughters, namely, Mrs. Roy Hill, Freetown; Mrs; Horace
