9 Friends in Georgetown learned with regret at the lnjuriu re- ceived on Saturday by Mr. Theo- ore Lavers oi Charlottetown and ormerly at Georgetown. Mr. Lavers. a Canadian National Rail- way tralnman. was pinned be- tween a railway car and a build- I ing at Kinkora on Saturday, when the car ran off the track and into the building while shunting. Mr. Lavers suffered two breaks in one arm and broken ribs. At the time of writing it could not be learn- ed it any internal injuries had been suffered.

On February 28. 1950, an un- usually happy event was cele- brated at the home ot Mr. and Mrs. Edgar G. Glddlngs, Murray River. the occasion being their tidtleth wedding anniversary.

Owing to the time of year it was impossible for all members at the family to be present but guts and messages at congratula- tions were received irom them and other relotives and ti-lends away 11-om home. Dr. E. S. Giddlngs and family motored from Char- lottetown.

At seven 13.27:. ‘on At Home re- ception was held and s'surn.ptuous bullet lunch was served to about eighty gusts. The table looked very nice. with its vase or do!- fodils and tulips. wedding cake, and silver service at each end. The wedding wire was three-tier and beautifully decorated with a miniature bride and groom on top.

An address was read by Mrs. Percy Shsram. and the guests of Murray River and vicinity pre- sented them with a good sum of

The funeral services werg held on Sunday, the mu. Alter a brie! period oi worship in the home con- ducted by the Rev. Sidney J. Boyce. The mourners proceeded to the Sturgeon Baptist Church where an exceptionally large gathering which taxed the capacity at the bulldlns testified to the sympathy lelt. Al- the impressive service the hymns sung were: "The Lord's My Shep- herd". "Rock of Ages" and "Shall We Meet Beyond the River?" The minister spoke words of comiort lrom the text: "God is our refuze and strength. a very present hell) in trouble." (Ps.46, v.1.) Interment was made in the adjoining United church Cemetery at which the closing prawer was offered by, the Rev. Mr. Hiscock.
