Kevin Walker stated that \ he was glad to see an increase in the amount for ancillary services. As he pointed out, "'Jhis means more for‘the students ‘ which is what a university is for. . . .the students."

Walker stated, " . . .the annual budget is good as it is student Oriented but it seems really mfair for the residence students."

In reaction to the summer job question on the Island, Jim Larkin stated that "a lot of people are out of work and jobs are needed. I would be in favour of creating jobs which have people working with our natural resources."

Mr. MacLean spoke to the students, telling them that "our government would be a more open gover— nment." He would cut much "of the regulations and red tape of which there is so much now."

Mr. MacLean closed the meeting by telling students of the advance polls andtobesure tovoteon Election Day, April 23rd.

‘MacDONALD 0 MRS AGAIN

The UPEI hockey Panthers star defenoeman Wilfred MacDonald continued his assault on league awards when he was recently named this year's winner of the Godfrey Award.

'Ihe award, which is donated annually by the ‘ Mount Allison Alumni, is given to the inter- collegiate player who best exemplifies the spirit of intercollegiate hockey through on ice leadership . and sportsmanlike conduct.

" We are very pleased to award this year's trophy to a yomg man such as Wilfred McDonald. He is a credit to the game and

For MacDonald it was another in a long list of awards ( see elsewhere ) that he has won this season.

Coach Jack Hynes was especially pleased with the selection. " Wilfred has won all kinds of awards but this one in particular shows the character of this young man. I think the committee made an outstanding selection."

MacDonald's selection marks the second time in the three year history of the award that a Panther has been chosen. Last year's winner was UPEI 's Louie Lortie.
