3 cans (33; ounces each) sar- dines

28;; cups freshly-mashed, season- ed potatoes

2 tablespoons butter or mar- garine

2 tablespoons finely-chopped

onion

Bi cup chopped dill pickle

5; teaspoon pepper

1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Heated shortening.

Drain sardines well: break up with a fork (discard backbones if sardines are large).

Prepare the freshly-mashed, sea- soned potatoes: add butter or mar- garine and cool slightly.

Add sardines. onion, dill pickle. pepper and Worcestershire sauce and combine lightly.
