Well. 'last Thursday evening was pub night on campus and as might be expected, it was a sell-out. The crowds were soaking up the sounds'of See Spot Run. a two year old Montreal based band. '

The band, which is currently on a Maritime university tour,. consists of Randy Bowen on lead guitar, Paul Moore on bass and keyboards. Kriss Broadbeck taking guitar and bass. and Tom Broadbeck on drums. ' ~ ‘

The band put together a tight. high energy show for an ap- preciative crowd.

Showing amazing versatility, See Spot Run trotted through the Clash. Big Country. the Cars, Billy Idol, the Police, David Bowie, Talking Heads, Cindi Lauper. Wang Chung. lcicle Works. etc.. etc. with each of the three string players taking an equal share of the vocal load.

The show included about seven originals. “Turn of the Cen~ tury". a thoughtful. well paced ballad. clearly outshone the others. “For Pete’s Sake". however, and “They’re Lookin‘ at You“ were impressive.

Randy Bowen, the group‘s/lead guitarist, was pleased with the group's reception on the island. Speaking for the group before the show he said. “The people out here have been really nice to us. It‘s like a home away from home and we appreciate it.”

Asked what make See Spot Run tick. all band members seemed to agree that it was a combination of personality, energy. and visuality.

One could hardly disagree after witnessing the comic free— l‘or-all that is See Spot Run. 7

For all you technical freaks out there. the band measures up in equipment as well. The instruments and gear tune up was strictly top notch. including Fender and Gibson guitars. a Fender bass. Ludwig drums. and a Martin sound system (which, l suspect. was a cleverly disguised Lacomb set up).

For all the gear. however. the sound started off a little shaky. All such problems were soon rectified, and the audience was treated to a rollicking. three’set show.

The hand was quite pleased with the crowd reaction during the show and some girls outside the Barn were quite pleased about Tom Broadbeck. the drummer. absent mindedly chang-
