Following is the report of Mrs. Frederick J. Steele. recording secretary of the Charlottetown sub-division of the Catholic Wo- men's League. given at the an- nual meeting of the orglnlutien Tuesday night.

At this the annual meeting of our sub-division it is my privil- ege to present A summary of the different activities of the Char- lottetown sub-division. from April 1950 to April l95l.

During the term there were nine regular. ten executive and two special executive meetings held.

In July the members were privileged to attend a Diocesan Retreat at Notre Dame Academy. preached by Reverend David Ed- wards. CSs.R.

On Nov. 5th a Communion breakfast was held at the Queen Hotel. following Mass at 8 o'clock at the Basilica. B6 mem- bers attended.

On Remembrance Day a Re- quiem Mass was offered in the Basilica by the C.W.L. and the K. of C. for those who made the supreme sacrifice and a wreath was placed at the cenotaiph by

Mrs. J. H. Blanchard. convener. reports 11 new members this year bringing our total member- ship to 152. During the year three of our members passed away.

Through the efforts of the con- vener. Mrs. A. T. Macxinnon. 335.00 was collected. Three new subscriptions to the ”Canadian League" magazine were obtained.

The annual Diocesan Retreat was held at Notre Dame Aca- demy in July with several of our members in attendance. The re- treat was conducted by Rev. David Edwards. C.Ss.R. children's and in nts garments made, 62 knitted rticles for in- rants and children. A large num- ber of quilts, bed comforters. and baby blankets made. Clothing for adults was pressed. repaired and made ready for distribution to needy families. Several cartons of clothing were packed and sent to country parishes. 25 art- icles of clothing were sent to the fire victims and I donation of 310.00 was also sent from the sub-division to relieve these needy families. Large donations of clothing were received from the members and the sum of s54.00 was donated by the sub- division to aid social service work.
