MARGARET CLOVER-In the death of Mrs. Mar- garet Glover on Friday evening last at her homo in Summerside there passed the last survivor of one of the oldest Scottish families on the Island. Mrs. Glover was 81 years of age and was born in Fountain Road. New Lcidon, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. McKie Campbell. Her father ccme from scotlnnd in 1814 and settled on the Island. He was one of the outstanding men of those early times and preached among the Scottish settlers of the old Scottish Church. True to the beliefs of hcr forefathers, Mrs. Glover was a faith- ful member of the Prcsbyteriani Church and dcvotcd a good deal of her time in its services. she was a member of the W. M. New London Mrs. Glover came to ilive in Summcrside and married the late Robert Glover, who owned the old Glover farm on the eastern ‘boundary of summcrside, now own- ‘ed by Mrs. Vernon Matthew. When ‘Mrs. Glover first came to Summer- ‘side it was just a swamp with only one or two houses and she lived to see it grow into one of the finest towns in the Maritime Provinces. Mrs. Glover took a great pride in telling strangers how the town had grown from such a small beginning. Al- though confined to hcr home for the inst few years she had many faith- ful friends who visited hcr frequent- ly. There are left to mourn an a- dopted daughter, Mrs. Eva Bishop, who tenderly nursed and cared for her during the last years of her life, and to whom The Guardian extends sincere sympathy.
