The May number of The Dry Goods Review has the following on the win- dow dressirg of one of Charlotteown's leading dry goods stores: —

In this issue The Review presents a

photograph of a we [ dressed window in F harlottetown, P. [., at the enter- lt was designed to show carpets and cur tains, and the verdic: of the firm is that the display actually eold goods. No better evilence of success is wanted than this. Io taking the photograph of the window it was found impossibie. owing to the reflection, to get a front view. At the same time, as window dressers will onseerve from the cut, which gives aside view, it must have been a rich and imposing display. In the front row the trimmer placed live large jad nieres full of spring flowers, back ot which were arranged five or six large s‘zed velvet rugs, folded with the point up. The sides were draped with point curtains d»wn to the looking- glass. The front and side of the glass were draped with Scotch or Notting- ham curtains, the back top of the win- dow with lace curtans. The back ground consisted of Brussels and Cress- ley's velvet», the middle end to prows being borders and stairs. An examina tion will show, as nearly as itis possible for a photograph to do, how well the trimmer had selected his goods. There were 24 pieces in all.
