An accident on Fitzroy street yesterday when a snowplow struck an electric light pole, left Gnu"- lottetown streets in darkness last night. Mr. V. A. Ainsworth, inan- ager of the Maritlnie Electric Co. plant said that as the result of broken wires on Fitzroy Street, between Cumberland and Edward, a. section of the street lighting switchboard at the plant burned out. He said repairs would require up to eight hours and that street lights would remain out all night. Tile blackout came when a heavy snowstorm was raging. The darkness made walking difficux. and motor traffic was proceeding with difficulty, especially on streets nehr the edge of the City.
