FINED UNDER GAME ACT- Yesterday morning at Montague before Stipendiary Magistrate Jos- eph W. MacDonald two Mill Operators, one from Bristol and the other from Bridgetown were charged under The Game Act with causing sawdust to enter water frequented by fish. Both were convicted and fined $10.00 and costs or 10 days. The Defend- ant from Bristol pleaded ‘Not Grnlty’ and was represented by M. Alban Farmer. Prosecution was conducted by the R. C. M. P.

The need of completing accumu- lations of salvage as quickly as possible 1o make it available for Canada's war effort was stressed last night by Mr. Gordon F. Steen, an official of the Scrap Rubber Campaign, ‘Ibronto, Ont, w in Charlottetown last evening. Ho particularly enuphasioed the - portance of scrap rubber which “is vitally needed to augment the fast diminishing reserve supply of na- tural rubber which was built up before the activity of Japan in the Pacifc cut off nearly 87 r cent of the world's supply of is im. portant commodity."
