Registered beef Bhorthorn cattle from the Canadian and Ammcgn herds of Cyrus Eaton. Nova acotla both American industrialist. made a clean sweep 'of first-place and championship ribbons this week at the summit Centennial Pair at Akron, Ohio.

Winners of the male and female reserve grand championship were Deep Oove Drasnbule and Deep cove Rosebud. bull and heifer that were raised at Mr. Eaton's Deep Cove Farms near Chester, N. 5.. and shipped this spring to his Acadia Farms at Ncrthflsld. Ohio.

The prize Shot-thorn air from Deep Cove were a bited at important Maritime fairs last year. and were winners wherever shown. Deep cove Rosebud climaxed her unbroken record of successes on the show circuit here with the -winning of the female grand championship of the Maritime Winter Fair at Amherst last Nov- ember.

Mr. Eaton recently arrived in Nova Scotia with eight of his grandchildren for his annual ox- tendod stay at Deep Cove Farms. He is convinced that the farmers of Nova Sootia. New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island can do a profitable business in raising Durebred and registered but breed- ing stock for the American market. where such cattle are permitted to enter duty-free.

"Properly fertilized and seeded. the pastures of the Maritime Pro- vinces can become the best in North America, "says Mr. Eaton," and can be an important factor in producing superior beef breeding cattle." British Defence chiefs To Visit Canada

OTTAWA. Aug. 6, Fifteen members of the student body and directing staff of Britain's Imper- ial Defence College will arrive here Sunday, August 13, by air from England on a 24-day tour of Can- ada from coast to coast. Defence Minister Brooke Claxton announ- ced yesterday.

A similar party from the College came to Canada last year, visiting and inspecting industrial plants and defence installations in the larger centres and in the north. Almost the same cities and sta- tions are to be iicluded in this year's tour. and a week will be spent in the United states before the party returns to the United Kingdom from Montreal on sept- ember 14.
