Is Acting For You?

For all interested in acting; a thearter improvisation group meets every Wednesday at 4 pm in room 109 at Robertson Li- brary. Activities include theater sports, concerntration games and other acting exercises. For prac- tical acting experience, the group will read plays for it’s own en- joyment. Professor Ron Irving, David Moses ( currently attend-

‘ing the National Thearter School

) and other experienced guests will give workshops. The regu- lar instructor/participant is local director, Terry, Dawes. Oppor- tunities to improve acting skills in a. group setting are rare on Prince Edward Island. Although the group costs nothing to at- tend, you can’t afford to miss it.

UPEI Debating Society

- Would you like to be able to speak in public confidently and convincingly? Would it be a ca- reer asset for you to learn how to debate and think logically and clearly? If yes, then why not check out the Debating Society? We need new members and wel- com everyone who’s interested. We meet every Wednesdsay at 3:00 pm in Main 311.

from Montreal and the McGill Debating tournament. The com- petition was very strong and we ended up with a 1-5 record. Al- though not as high as we hoped, we didlearn a lot. We placed higher in the standings than teams from McMaster, Coast

Guard College, Victoria (V of T), Bates (U.S.), Bronx (U.S.), York,

Windsor, UNB, and UNBSJ. There were teams at the tourna- ment from as far away as Glas- gow, Scotland.

Notice To Students

For the Academic year 1990 - 91 Student Union fees will incease from $88 to $92. The present level of $88 has been maintained for four years and only a mod- est increase of 10% has been real- ized in the_past seven years. It is now time to make a small jump so as to keep up with climbing expenses and the proposed goods and services tax.
