Mrs. K. Danton Taylor. a member of the board of Ewart College, is visiting this province today as part of a tour that will take in the seven presbyteries of the Maritime synod.

The visitor will meet with various women's grogps of the Presbyterian Church o express appreciation for their support of the Ewart college building fund. She will also meet with any prospective students.'

Ewart College is the mission- ary deaconess training school for the Presbyterian Church and is located on the campus of the University of Toronto. The new building was recently opened and dedicated.

LONDON (CP) -— Canadian publisher Roy Thomson today announced the foundation of a $15,000,000 charitable tr u s t aimed at using mass media for education in underdeveloped countries.

Called the Thomson Founda-

pert teachers and training cen- tres in the television and news- paper fields. It also will sponsor educational television programs. distribute text books and offer scholarships for degree courses in British and Commonwealth universities.

The remains of the Stephen S. Hessian of Montague arrived in the city last night from Lagos. Ni ' , where he died Monday after a short ill-

ness.

The late Mr. Hessian, Lib- eral member for Fifth Kings, died while attending the annual meeting of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association.

His remains were flown from Nigeria to London, Eng. and from there to Halifax yesterday from where they were taken to Charlottetown by Hennessey‘s Funeral Home.

The remains will rest at Mr. Hessian's late res‘ enc ' Montague at 2 pm. today and the funeral will be held Satur- day morning with Solemn Re- quiem High Mass being sung at St.~James’ Church, Georgetown.
