There was quite a large eon- gregatioii. gonslderlng the condi- tion of the roads. at the Gedile Memorial Church on Sunday morning last. The minister. !'.'ev. D. A. Campbell. B.A., preached an eloquent and thought-provoking sermon taking‘ as his text Actt Chapter 18. verse as and those tol- lowing. Before taking up the sun Ject of his discourse he gave a brief outline or some of the history shaping events whlclrhad their beginning and some their ending in Macedonia, Then turning to his text and the question of the jailoi". the same question that has been asked by men and women all down through the ages. “Slrs, what musr I do to be saved?" And the answer!

For the offertory the choir sang "He Lifted Me." At the beginning of the service two little girls. daughters of Roland and Mrs. Paynter arid of his brother Artziu. and his wife who was an English girl whom he married while serv- ing overseas. were baptized. The first child was named Carolyn June. and the other Sandra Carol. Although only about six months old both remained throughout thr service and never made a sound.

About three years ago the late Miss lfi-aser and lier bro ther, Rev. J. K. Fraser donated some very interesting relics which had belonged to Rev. John Geddic. to the Gcddie Memorial Church. Included in these was s. picture oi Mrs. Geddie and three of her fani- ily, the picture ivas clear but yel- lowed with age. Another was a sample ‘ofacloth worn by the wo-

from the leaves of. trees which the,» first chewed up and finally made into a fabric which ‘is still today alter so many years strong and hard to tear. It was made in a striped pattern in color o! brown and gold and a light straw color.

Another article was a war club

It was brought cc Rev. Allan Fraser. Miss Frascrs father by Dr. Geddle when ns came back to Canada on furlough in 1&4. The story" is told that one dark stormy night one of the natives followed Rev. Mr. Geddie through the jungle with one of~tliose clubs (perhaps the same one), with tne intention of killing him. As he raised his arm to strike it sudden- ly became paralysed and he never after regained full use of it. lie afterwards got converted and told the story with his own lips.

A few months ago Miss Price of Charlottetown kindly donated an autographed framed picture o. Rev. Mr. Geddie. This has been placed with the collection in the church arid makes a complole set. o! the Geddie family.

The collection of Geddie relics in the old church is without doubt the best in Canada. The first se~ cured was the old pewter Com- munion Set which has engraved on it the words and dstc "N. L n-esbytcrian Congregation 1832.’

The old deed written on parch- ment was also secured. This deed conveyed a grant of land from Alexander Anderson for church grounds and for the first come tel-y. Later some of the old “tok- ens" were added. They are made of pewter. quite thin, about one inch square. and bear the same date “as the Communion service. The late Mrs. Albert Simpson, gave a framed copy of Dr. Cecilia's farewell address delivered in ma church more than a century ago. The late A. S. McKay and Mrs MacKay presented a nicely bound "Life of Rev. John Geddle, D. 0.". A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Webb of Cavendish gave two chairs which had been used by the Geddie family in their own home.

In the. passing of Miss Fraser one more link wlth the past has been broken.
