Khrushchev Blamed For Cuban Crisis

MOSCOW (Reuters)—Commu- nist propagandists explaining the Kremlin power shuffle were reported Thursday night to be blaming former premier Khrushchev for the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.

Party officials recalled the crisis as one of the former pre- mier's “sho r t c o m t n g s" in speeches at closed party meet- ings in Moscow, usually reliable sources said.

The sources said Khrushchev was being criticized for putting Russian missiles into Cuba in the first place. not for taking them out again during the 1962 confrontation with the United States.

Party meetings to explain the reasons for K‘hruschev's re- moval were still continuing, two weeks after the Kremlin reshm- fie, in Moscow, sources said.
