In April of this year an Information Canada Centre opened in Char— lottetown at 160 A Kent Street. Information Can- ada is a federal govern- ment agency whose major objectiVe is to make factual and useful info— rmation on federal gov- ernment programs and services more easily acc- essible to citizens. We try to provide this in- formation by responding to individuals' enquir- ies by phone, mail or directly at the centre. In addition to a verbal response to enquiries, we also have a large selection of free federal government publications covering a wide variety of topics in such areas as consumer affairs, en- vironmental protection, day care, metrication, unemployment insurance, health and welfare, Can— ada Council, agriculture and the status of women.
