ping company, formed to help meet the needs of the expanding outposts in Canada’s Arctlc. W111 begin operations this summer._

Known as Arctic Shipping Llm’ ited, the company will be the f11‘Sf to make reg-ular shipments be- tween Vancouver and points along the coast of the Arctic. Shipping companies in the past have hauled cargoes from Vancouver to the Arctic, but only on special runs. ‘ Supplies to the Arctic by water- now are chiefly handled by the Crown-owned Northern Transpor- tation Company Limited and the privately - operated Yellowknife Transportation Company Limited- Tlle Hudson's Bay Company, which sold its river fleet to North- ern Transportation early this year, still maintains its far north- ern fleet of six ships.

Both Yellowknife Transportation and Northern Transportation ply regularly during -the summer months along the Mackenzie River to the Arctic. Ocean.

MRS. CHRISTINE MORRISON

Funeral services for Mrs. Chris- tine Morrison, who passed away Friday at her home, were held on Monday afternoon at Groveton, N.H. the Methodist Church with Rev. Herbert Cooper of Canaan, Vt., and Rev. Maurice Porter officiating. Bearers ‘were Ralph Emerson, Stewart Nugent, HS. Israel and Floyd Carter. Burial was in Gmveton Cemetery.

Mrs Morrison was born on Dec. 25, 1881, in South Granville, P. E. Island, Can., the (laugh- ter of George and Katherine Gunn. She received her nurses’ .rainin-g at the Lying in Charity Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa., and 0 was later Superintendent there. On Sept. 1, 1917, she marreid Michael Morrison, who was orig- inally from Prince Edward Is- land, in Philadelphia, and they moved to Groveton. She worked as a special nurse at the Lan- caster Hospital and ran a mat- ernity home in Groveton for many years. She served as sup- erintendent at the Lancaster Hos- p_i'tal_ for about eight years, re-' signing because of an operation when one of her legs was am- putated in 1948. Later, another operation was necessary ampu- tating her other leg.

Although she had to use a. wheel chair, she_ retained her cheerful disposition, and those visiting her were amazed by her good spirits.
