OTTAWA (CPI—The minor- lty Progressive Conservative government came through in-

tack in two more confidence tests in the Commons Tuesday night. winning one of them by a slim eight-vote edge.

The first was a Social Credit non-confidence motion on which 15 New Democratic Party members joined with 106 Con- servatives to turn back a com- bination of 91 Liberals and 22 Social Credit.MPs. .

It came out 121 to 113.

The eastern agricultural con- ference. made the representa- tion in a prepared submission to the agriculture minister.

It cited inadequate movement of stocks of feed grains Eastern Canada before the close of Great Lakes navigation, with resulting price increases to farmers in the winter months. as the main grain storage and supply problem.

The problem was mainly one of lack of efficient utilization of space and its availability for do- mestic feed grains.

The conference asked for more definite procedures and more authority for public offi- cials to reserve and allocate space needed for domestic sup- plies of western feed grain in eastern Canada.

. However. policies of providing storage for feed grains could not substitute for feed freight ‘assistance. This was a sound national policy which should be continued without question. the submission said.
