of St. Andrews, P. E. 1.. was killed cn Saturday when a car collided with his motorcycle in Toronto's eastern suburbs.

A Roman Catholic missionary in China for eighteen years, he was ordained in 1924, and went to China the following year, After being forced to leave China by the in- vasion of the Japanese. Father Morrison took over duties at the China Mission at Scarborough Bluffs, Toronto.

He was in his 66th year. and was a half brother of the late Bishop Morrison. Antigoriish.

On Saturday aftcrlioon R. C. A. F. Station, Summerside took on an international aspect which it will bear for some time. Nineteen men composing the no. 1 course of the North Atlantic treaty organiza- tion arrived in two Dakota air crlift from London. Ont., to com- mence 39 weeks of training in air navigation.

There are eight Italians. six Bel- gians and five Norwegians. The men were welcomed on arrival by the commanding officer of the sta- tion, Group Captain H. G. Rich- ards, O.B.E., and by Squadron Leader F. Sheffield who will be in charge of their course.

While their presence will give an international flavor to the station, visually there is not much difference because." while they wear the national air force uni- forms of their respect countries they are similar in design and al- most identical in. color to the R- C. A. F. uniforms.

Three hunters were marooned on the shores of Governor's Island for several hours last evening They were Doctor E. S. Giddings. his thirteen year old son. Sterling. and Bobby Allan. 14 year old son of Dr. A. W. M. Allan.

Comprising a party with Dr. H H. Pierce and Lt. J. Richards, the hunters had left for Governor's ls- innd early in the afternoon and left their boat on the north side while they went hunting on the south side out of the wind.

Upon returning to the boat in the late afternoon they found that it had been blown high and dry and the tide had receded. After some time Dr. Pierce and LL Richards managed to get it afloat, but the Water at that point was too deep for the younger members of the party to be taken aboard. Handicapped by a damaged shaft. the craft returned to Char- lottetown in search of additional aid. Captain J. J. Connolly of H. M. C. S. "Queen Charlotte" mus- tered a crew for the larger of the two harbor craft nnd linking with them a small punt left shortly after nine-thirty for Governor's island.

It was expected the hunters would be picked up about midnight...

A 9 o'clock curfew for minors, re- commended by the police commit- tee, was indorsed unanimously at last night's monthly meeting of the City Council, and the police will be instructed to see that after the fire bell is rung at this hour, all children are off the streets.

The matter was introduced by Coun. C. M. Cox. chairman of the police committee, who also request- ed authority for the police to seize all bicycles found lying on the side- walk or carrying more than one person.

The committee I olnmended that regulations be made regarding si.om' selling groceries on Sunday while remaining open on restaurant li- censes. also that no licenses be is- sued untll the premises have been inspected and found to comply with regulations.

Commenting on an item in V95- terdayls issue concerning veget- ables shipped to Newfoundland from Prince Edward island and other Provinces being classed as undergrads on arrival, an author- itative source stated yesterday that all vegetable exports from P.E.I like all other Provinces, must con- forln to Dominion regulations and be passed for export by a federal inspector, These trade regulations are rigidly enforced for the protec- tion of both buyer and seller.

No. 3 specialist navigation course will commence at R. C. A. F. station. Summe ” on Mon- day, October 16th. This is the top navigation course in the Air Force. It lasts for six months and only one is held a year. it is given each year to eight R. C. A. F. of- ficers and one officer from the United States Air Force. The course is designed to qual- ify an officer for any navigation- al position in any air force in the world. This is the course that usually makes quite a bit of news due to the long distance flights taken as part of the training. Last. year the course visited the United states. Great Britain and spent some time in the far north. During these trips visits are made to instrument manufacturing, plants- research centers and other establishments of interest to navi- gators. The American officer taking the course this year is Captain 1?. K. Hansel. who comes from March all-force base. Riverside. call- fornis. The it C. A.
