The ladies of the North Tryon Presbyterian congregation held a very successful Halloween Supper, at. the home of Mrs. Sarah McKen- zie, Tryon, on Thursday night. Plenty of tasty eats, including __ pumpkin pie. were there. and table after table ﬂlled with boys and girls of all ages from l5 to 60, meant that financially the supper was a suc- cess, and the pleased~expression on the faces of those who had the ne- cessary 35 cents and used it to ad- vantage left nothing further to add.

Never in the history of our province has nature been so bountiful as this year and while the price for potatoes is very low it will give everyone who has not yet tasted P. E. I. potatoes a chance to sample them at a price ridicul- ously low and when once having had the best procurable it is fairly certain these people will like all who have before eaten "spuds" from "Spud Island" ask for them always. So to all in foreign climes who read these crude Tid Bits, be wise and eat P. E. I. potatoes. They are the best.

An interesting history of each Institute from time of organization till the present time was read by a member from each branch which was much appreciat- ed, and each Institute had an op- portunity to, hear what the others were doing for home and country. Miss Schurman read a very inter- esting and instructive address by .Dr. Tidmarsh, dealing with the [scourge of tuberculosis and the best way of controlling it. Miss Saun vders gave a demonstration on the ‘making of woollen flowers. The les- son was enjoyed and appreciated and was quickly learned by the ‘ladies present.

Bridgetown ladies entertained the ldelegates at tea. In the evening a 1 public meeting was held in the hall.

There was a very good attendance Iconsideringihe short notice. The ‘meeting opened with community isinging. Dr. McDonald, St. Peters. addressed the meeting with a. dis- icourse on tuberculosis, its symp- toms, prevention, control and cure. ‘for which he received a hearty vote loi’ thanks.
