‘There wasa large attendance at the an- nual meeting of the Charlottetown Tem- peraace Alliance beld in the Y.M.C.A. ha'l ov Saturday eveniag, and much interest was taken in the proceedinge. The Preei~ dent went over the work of the year and recounted the part taken by the A-liance in the plebiscite campaign. He urged upon the members the necessity of doing something to secure an improved condition of affairs in Charlottetown so far as the/ traffic in intoxicants is concerned.

Salvation Army.
The anniversary meetings at the Salva- tion Army yesterday, led by A. K. H, McG llivray and the resident offisers, were very successful. The closing meeting wil! be held this evening for which a very entertaining programme has been prepar- cd coneisting of eoloe, duets, snd selections from the band.
The most interesting feature to-night will be the barbell exercise by the junior soldiers.
The Salvation Army has now been in operation in Charlottetown for thirteen year+.During that time handreds have pro fessed conversion in the meetings. While some have not followed the Saviour all tve way and others have united with the
churches or bave removed te other places yet there are about eighty enrolled soldiers in
standing ard active Aghters in the war Fifteen soliders have gone from the local corps as officers and are to-day engaged in carrying on the war in other fields of labour —ene in England and Bermuda a few in the United States and others throughout the Dumivion. The work at present is
in a fairly flourishing condition, there being several recruits ready for enrollment ana the Salvationists are determined to make their fourteenth year the best on record.
