Islanders need jobs, but we realize that a “quick fix" to our job needs is not the answer. We need a permanent solution. Our job creation policy is built on three principles:

(1) We know that most Islanders want to work;

(2) We know that most Islanders want to stay in their home community;

(3) And we know that small, family-owned and community-based businesses have been the most successful in providing long-term jobs.

By building on these principles we can solve our job problem.

4. EQUALITY

Everyone - rich or poor, big or small - has to have equal access to government.

Political parties cannot fulfill their duty if they are held captive by big interests who only want to manipu- late government to their own ends.

We believe that what you say is every bit as impor- tant as what big interests say. We will listen to your voice.
