On the rouare there wasa large bonfire, around which the different elements in the psrade formed a circle, the back~ground being made up of several thousand citizens.

Doring the pre gress ‘of the fire cheere were given for the Queen, the British Generals on service in South

Africa, acd Mayor Warburton. The differ- ent bands contributed patriotic airs, and Soldiers of the Queen was sung bv tke members of the Boys Brigade.

At ut halfspast uine there was more cheering forthe Queen, after which the mtlitiemen and the others participatiog in the parade repaired to their beadquarters where they dispersed. But many citizens lingered about the square until the laet ve-tige of the bonfire disappeared.

After the bonfire the setting off of fire-~ wirks was continued, this feature of the celebration covtinuing until wei] up to midnight.

The manoer in which the celebration of tLe Sl+t birthday of Victoria the Good was celebrated in Charlottetown will Cbg remain a pleasant memory.

The band mnsic last night was &pe- cially good. The Bard ot the 4th Regt plays exceptionally well eince its re- organization.

The decorating of Weeks & Co’s store was largely the work of Mr. L. G, Whear. That the work was well done is freely ackrewledo-d, }

Harzard & Moore’s display of fireworks isst night was bighly ereditable. The fire baloon sent up by the firm was a pretty sight and attracted much atien- idk,

The armored train was a conspicuous feature of the procession. The almost con- tnonous rifl- fire therefrom punctuated the band music and the cheers of the crowd along the streets through which the procession passed,
