No sharper reminder of its meaning could be of- fﬁred than by the Provincial Plowing Match and. Agricultural Fair which “pens its two-day run at Dundas to— morrOw.

There was a time (in many parts of Canada, even if not on the Island) when’oxen were the symbol of geod plowing. Then came the long reign of the horse. N 0w the sway of the trac- tor has become almost bomplete.

But always the goal has remained unchanged—good plowing. _

'Agriculture Minister Cullen, as he attended last week’s Prince County Plowing Match near Knutsford, re- marked that good plowing always was the essence of good farming and that there was need to strive after skill with the tractor plow. Those who did not compete, he Observed, could learn by watching. c i '

It is in that spirit that interest in the Dundas event tomorrow and Thursday is expectedto reach a new peak. Agriculture both goes back to its beginnings and looks to its future as it stages thee competitions in the cause of good plowing.
