Loses Life In

Burning

Farm Building At Norboro

A Norboro farmer. Mr. Mayne Stewart. iopt his life early yester- day morning when fire destroyed his burn. an adjoining machine shed and hen house.

The fire started on me barn loft and is believed to have been caused by the kerosene lantern which Mr. Stewart was using in his early chores.

The fire was discovered about 7:15 by Hubert Murphy. who no- ureri smoke drifting from the eve of the barn. Mr. Murphy rushed into the house to notify Stewart's son Garth and daughter Roma.

Garth Stewart. home on Christ- mas leave from the R.C.M.P. de- iachment. Sycliiey. N.B.. raced into ihe cow stable but could not locate his father. He attempted to enter another section of the barn and had to be restrained by neighbors from re-entering the biasing struc- lure.

Neighbors succeeded in saving the machinery from the machine shed.

The Keusiagton Fire Department raced to the scene to stamp out the blaze. The loss was partially covered by insurance.

MONTREAL (CP) -- For the third straight Christmas, there will be little rejoicing in the home of 13-year-old Lise Dagenais.

The frail-looking girl has been in a coma since a tragic Thanksgiv- ing Day aulomoblle accident two years ago last Oct. 13. Ttie mishap claimed one life and left Lisa on the critical list in hospital for many months.

She spends her days in a bed in the modest Dagenais home at nearby Villa St. Michel while a nurse keeps vigil. Totally blind in one eye and partially in another. Lise rarey is seen to move or heard to utter ii sound.

Her saddened family prays daily for her recovery.
