They can only do it when the snow is deep, and when it is light and salt. so. when- ever there was a chance to sleep snug and sale and warm down in the show these young Grouse al- ways did it. Hitherto, all the fam- ily had slept that way. but this time their mother and father, and a brother and sisiter had not plung- ed into the snow with them. .They had decided to spend the night. up in I tree. Mrs. Grouse hadn't liked the look: or things. and Thunder- er. their father, had agreed with her. The brother and sister had decided wisely that father and mother knew best, and so had done as they did.

The January meeting of the Union Road W. M. 8. met at the home of Mrs. Harry Newman on January 3; Theme for the month. Evangelism. The church business. meeting opened by singing the hymn. "I do not ask 0 Lord." fol- lowed by the Lord's Prayer in uni- son. Scripture lesson was trom Acts, read by (our different members, fouowed by prayers. Roll call was answered by eight members and three visitors. Minutes or the lut meeting were read.and' appr ad. Mrs. NormanGreen presented the Christian Stewartship reading. Mrs. A. G. Mallett gave a reading for temperance. entitled "Drink Rav- ager". During the business period several letters were read and dis- cussed. The Treasure gave a re- port for 1954. 3130.00 was sent. to the Presbytery. 85.10 on hand. For the program. Mrs. Everett Lamont gave a reading entitled "The wells or Strength". Mu. Harold Yeo gave a reading entit- led. "The Message of the Lights". The program committee (or next meeting. is Mrs. Sterling Yeo and Mrs. B. C. Hardy. Three members paid fees. Next place of meeting is the home or Mrs. Sterling Yoo. Collection amounted to t2.O0. 0105111: hymn was "Work. for the Night is Coming." followed by Bene- diction. Refreshments were then served by the hostels and a social hour spent.
