The cold air shaft connecting with the furnace in the cellar was the medinm through which an entrance was attempted, but the lad who tried the scheme got stuck fast before he proceeded very far, and was unable to extricate himse!f. Some one in the vicin- ity saw the lad’s predicament and pulled him out. It ie safe to say that the trick wiil not be repeated.
