He said on August 2: "The Liberal party stands for electoral laws which will ensure s true parlia- mentary representation of the Canadian peo- ple." Broadcasting from Ottawa on September l7, he again stated that the Liberal party was pledged “to measures of electoral reform to eu- sure a true parliamentary representation of the people." When it was known that the Liberals had won the election, Mr. King issued a state- ment, in the course of which he said that it was “a verdict in favor of personal liberty, electoral reform and other measures."
