MR. GEORGE BERNARD

It was with a feeling of deep narrow that the community of Long River and surrounding dis- tricts heard the death of George Bernard, which occurred at his home on February 24, 1956. He was in his 75th year and had been in failing health for almost three years. He had lived all his life on the homestead at Long River. Those left to mourn his passing are his widow and two daughters, Gertie (Mrs. David Paynter) Charlottetown; E sthe r (Mrs.. Elmer MacDonald) Long River, and James at home; also nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren; one sisetr, Mrs. Ed- ward Johnston, Long River. and one brother John. Lethbridge, Al- berta, also survive him.

The funeral was held Saturday, February 25th from his late resi- dence, and was conducted by Rev. 8. H. Haslam.

The hymns sung were: "Peace, Perfect Peace", "Sleep On, Be- loved". and "Asleep in Jesus".

The pallbearers were Alvin Ber- nard. Clair MacLeod, grandsos, Oliver Paynter, Francis Paynter, Lester Duggan, nephews, William Silliker. a family friend. inter- ment was in Geddie Memorail Cemetery. The beautiful floral tributes were:
